The rapid prototyping of non-ferrous materials requires the use of 2 different families of products: resins and plastics. Sinthesi Engineering has mastered the technologies and usage methods in both sectors.
Resins are typically employed with cold polymerization processes, which involve the use of light sources. One of these methods is stereolithography, a technology which we use to process two different types of resins: one that we refer to as PC-Sint, as it simulates the transparency characteristics of Polycarbonate, and a second that we call AB-Sint, which is grey in colour, and replicates all the characteristics of ABS, except for the temperature.
With regard to the processing of plastic materials, Sinthesi Engineering uses FDM technology. The thermoplastic materials that are hot worked by our company are listed below:
ABS: Normally used for items without any specific characteristics. Base colour BLACK
ASA: Extremely valid from an aesthetic and technical standpoint, as it even stands up to the elements and UV rays, Colour LIGHT IVORY
PC-ABS: Combines the softness of ABS with the thermal resistance of PC. Ideal for small components of switches or similar products. Colour BLACK
PC: Polycarbonate, a material that's capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures without excessive costs. Typically used for precision and highly technical parts. Colour White
PA12: Commonly known as Nylon, this material can be used to make flexible and precision parts. Colour BLACK
ULTEM: A high-performance material with outstanding mechanical and thermal resistance. Widely used in the aviation and shipbuilding industries, as it is fireproof. Colour GOLD or BLACK
